First Lady of San Francisco, Mrs. Anita Lee, visited Yoder Bilingual Academy on March 24, 2014. Besides touring the campus and giving a presentation to students and faculty members, Mrs. Lee also spent time to interact with students. After the visit, Mrs. Lee stayed for lunch and shared her thoughts on the cultural differences and the importance of language acquisition with program directors, PTA President and Vice President and board members of Yoder Bilingual Academy.
Mrs. Lee’s husband, Edwin Lee, is the 43rd mayor of San Francisco. Mr. Edwin Lee is the first Chinese American mayor in San Francisco’s history, as well as the first Asian American elected to the office. Before being appointed mayor, he was City Administrator. Before entering the city government, Mr. Lee practices law for 10 years. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bowdoin College in Maine in 1974 and from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1978. He married his wife Anita in 1980. Mr. and Mrs. Lee has two daughters.
