On Friday, May 20, 2016 Yoder Bilingual Academy hosted its 3rd Annual International Day.The English Department decided to host this event in order to teach students more about the lesser known countries in the world.

This year our Grade 1 to Grade 5 students “visited” countries such as, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland, Belize, Norway, Costa Rica and Nepal. Grade 6 to Grade 9 “visited” Somalia, Cuba, Philippines, Mongolia, Finland, Haiti and the Czech Republic. Armed with their “Yoder Passports” students collected entry stamps from each of the countries they learned about.

It is also worth mentioning that the students from F Class (Grade 7) hosted New Zealand and Belize. Students from G Class (Grade 8) taught students about Nepal and Tibet, and the Grade 9 students from the H Class did an interesting presentation on Norway. It gave these students the chance to learn about a new country, teach other students about a new country and practice their own public speaking and presentation skills.
