We could not have picked a better day to visit the beautiful city of Cambridge – a world renowned university town, steeped in rich history and prestige.   The cobblestone streets are lined with beautiful architecture and quaint churches dating back to the year AD 1,000.

The River Cam traverses through the University of Cambridge and during the summer, you can journey down the river, partaking in an activity known as punting.  We joined a punting tour group that paddled through the most picturesque areas of the university.  The tour was both engaging and informative.

The next part of our tour brought us to King’s College, one of the thirty one agglomerate of colleges at Cambridge University.  At the King’s College Chapel, our Yoder students engaged in an interesting lesson about neo-gothic architecture.

After a brisk stroll around town, we enjoyed some free time.  A few of us wandered over to Cafe Nero for some coffee and refreshments, while others took the time to purchase souvenirs and gifts for family and friends. The children enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Cambridge.
