While the Changing of the Guards ceremony at Buckingham Palace is one of the greatest displays of British pageantry, it is a majestic affair which draws massive crowds, making it nearly impossible for children to enjoy. \u00a0Thus, on this beautiful, Friday morning, we decided to avert the overzealous tourists and instead visit the Changing of the Queen\u2019s Life Guard at the Horse Guards Parade. \u00a0Since the ceremony drew smaller crowds, our students were able to enjoy a more intimate encounter with the horses. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>After the ceremony, we ventured to the Natural History Museum. \u00a0We enjoyed a quick picnic outside on the lawn and later spent some time visiting the numerous exhibits. \u00a0Most of the children very much enjoyed this interactive museum. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, we spend some time shopping at Covent Garden and Leicester Square. \u00a0Amongst all the shops, the children particularly enjoyed the Lego Store and the M&M Store.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Our evening ended with a relaxing afternoon tea at the English Tea Room inside the famous Brown\u2019s Hotel. This traditional hotel is marked with rich history; Alexander Graham Bell made his first telephone call in Europe at the Brown\u2019s Hotel. The children received a quick lesson on the history of afternoon tea and also tea etiquette. \u00a0It was a fantastic end to a wonderful day in London. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
